Telepath
A telepath is a person who is believed to have the ability to receive, transmit, or sense another person’s thoughts directly, without using ordinary communication such as speaking, writing, gestures, or technology.
For example, someone who claims, “I can know what you are thinking without you telling me,” might describe themselves as a telepath.
The concept is closely related to telepathy, which is the supposed phenomenon itself. A telepath is the person who supposedly possesses the ability.
In science, however, there is no established evidence that genuine human telepathy exists. People can sometimes appear to “read minds” because of observation, knowledge of someone’s habits, body language, psychological techniques, coincidence, or stage magic.
So, simply:
Telepathy = the alleged ability to communicate thoughts directly from mind to mind.
Telepath = a person who is believed or claims to possess that ability.
